KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia's (VPCM) new Passat R- Line is enhanced with more power and premium features for 2022.
The automaker's mid-sized sedan is given a power boost to its 2.0TSI turbocharged engine which now produces 220PS and 350Nm of torque.
It is paired with a 6-speed wet clutch DSG and comes with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) and Driving Mode Selection. Fuel efficiency is at approximately 6.9l/100km.
A premium Harman Kardon 700-watt audio system that features 12 speakers (including a subwoofer) with four modes (Pure, Chill Out, Live and Energy), along with haptic-touch air con control are added highlights to the cabin.
"The Passat is built on a successful combination of class and performance, which makes it the sedan of choice for the sophisticated both globally and locally.
"We have retained the unique features of the Passat R-Line but fine-tuned its performance, so that it becomes an ideal partner for the discerning driver," said VPCM managing director Erik Winter.
The new Passat R-Line is available in three metallic colours (Scale Silver, Aquamarine Blue, and Manganese Grey) and two pearl-effect colours (Deep Black and Oryx White) at no additional cost.
It is priced from RM211,916.88 with the current sales tax exemption, and comes with three years free maintenance, five years unlimited mileage warranty, and five years roadside assistance.
Locally assembled in Pekan, it is the second model in Malaysia to receive the new Volkswagen logo.
