KUALA LUMPUR: Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2020's (ABPBH 2020) grand prize winner, Haqiem Rusli, is now also an Electric Vehicle (EV) owner as he drives home a new Nissan Leaf as an award.
Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM), the official vehicle sponsor said it was the company's pleasure to collaborate with ABPBH 2020 as this contest recognises Malaysian artistes' hardwork and dedication in growing the local entertainment industry.
"We would like to congratulate Haqiem Rusli on his win and driving home the 100 per cent EV Nissan Leaf. He now joins the EV family and will be part of our sustainability efforts in supporting the nation's aspiration, as well as accelerate the global movement to become more environmental conscious towards a sustainable future," said ETCM's Sales and Marketing director Christopher Tan.
The 100 per cent EV Nissan Leaf is worth RM181,263. It generates an estimated 311km range on a full charge of 40kWh battery (based on New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) test mode) and has a power torque of 320Nm that allows it to hit 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds.
It comes complete with Nissan Intelligent Mobility advanced safety technologies such as e-Pedal, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking, and Intelligent Around View Monitor (360° camera), plus other interior features.
Established in 1987, ABPBH is an annual event organized by Berita Harian to bestow awards to the most popular Malaysian artistes in the Malaysian entertainment industry based on popular votes by readers of Berita Harian and Berita Minggu. It is one of the most prestigious people's choice awards in Malaysia entertainment industry.
The 23-year old singer, composer and actor Haqiem Rusli from Selangor was announced the winner of Bintang Paling Popular on Nov 13 last year where he garnered 22,332,676 votes. He also won Penyanyi Bintang Popular and Lagu Paling Boom Popular with song titled 'Lembah Kesepian'.
