WHAT a beauty. If the Lexus brand has never tugged your exotic heartstrings, then you may want to have a look at the LC 500 Convertible.

Sitting on 21-inch forged wheels with two-tone polished finish and black coating, the car is inspired by the LF-LC concept car.

With its signature low, sharp front design, spindle grille, three-beam LED projector lamps and full LED combination lamps boasting an infinity mirror design at the rear, the convertible takes the best physical qualities of the standard LC 500.

The soft top, constructed from a four-layered material (three layers of fabric plus NVH material), can be opened in 15 seconds or closed in 16 seconds at speeds of up to 50kph.

Lexus said soft-top roof design was aimed at keeping the convertible's weight down as much as possible compared to the LC 500 coupe while still delivering 149 litres of boot space.

A transparent wind deflector located behind the rear seats also helps reduce buffeting and keep the cabin calm to up to speeds of 60kph.

The convertible is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine paired to a naturally aspirated, Direct-Shift 10-speed automatic transmission.

It produces 470hp with 540Nm of torque, allowing it to complete the century sprint in 4.9 seconds and achieve an electronically-limited top speed of 270kph.

Thanks to an artificial intelligence-managed shift control transmission, the convertible has a fuel efficiency of 12.7 litres per 100km (combined).

Its colour options are White Nova Glass Flake, Deep Blue Mica, Sonic Silver, Terrane Khaki Mica Metallic, Naples Yellow Contrast Layering, Blazing Carnelian Contrast Layering, Radiant Red Contrast Layering, Black, Graphite Black Glass Flake, Dark Gray Mica and Sonic Titanium, with roof colour options of black and beige.

The interior, offered in Flare Red, Black and Ocher, features an eight-way power adjustable semi-aniline leather sports seats with heater and ventilation and a 10.3-inch high-resolution split-screen multimedia display that provides access to audio, climate controls and various systems, including the voice-activated navigation system.

It is also integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

A remote touch interface is also located on the centre console and is equipped with a 13-speaker Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound System.

The Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) is present and features, among others, a pre-collision system, lane departure alert with lane keep assist, dynamic radar cruise control and automatic high beams.

The vehicle also comes with six airbags as well as blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert as standard features.

Priced at RM1,350,000 (after sales and service tax without insurance), owners will be able to enjoy a five-year unlimited mileage warranty plus free service throughout that duration or for its first 100,000km, as long as it is cared for accordingly by trained Lexus professionals at authorised Lexus Centres.
