KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Berhad today introduced its new logo and tagline to mark the culmination of its recent evolution after announcing a global partnership with Zhejiang Geely Holding Group in 2017.

While maintaining the tiger icon in its design, the national car's logo has been refreshed to feature a bolder looking emblem with sleek silver finish. The 'uncaged' tiger emblem will be on Proton’s next iterations beginning with the upcoming locally-assembled version of the X70 SUV.

With the new logo comes a new tagline, which reads 'Inspiring Connections' to represent Proton's aim to use technology and mobility to make human connections that inspire a successful life.

This, Proton hopes will be achieved by injecting three core values, namely innovative technology, reliability and international, across its products and services.

Having secured the second position in terms of sales in Malaysia, Proton has since garnered 36 per cent growth in a market that saw a 5 per cent decrease in total sales, making it the only major manufacturer to record a double-digit growth so far this year.

As the market also saw five new models released this year, Proton aims to perform better across all products lifecycle beginning with the incorporation of best-in-class technologies in its vehicles to efficient after-sales services.

The company is also hoping to attract not only the global market but also global talent.

"We will strive to offer better products and services, without compromise," said Dr Li Chunrong, Proton's chief executive officer.

Proton chairman Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar noted that Proton has improved, but its strong workforce and network which includes 102 3S and 4S centres will collectively continue to do better in the future.

“Proton will continue making the best cars that meet Malaysians' needs, make no mistake, but we will do this as a globally-competitive company.”
