KUALA LUMPUR: MAN Truck and Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN) has unveiled the MAN XLION special model at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo (MCVE) 2019.
The MAN TGS 33.480, 6x4 prime mover with its XLION lion design on the sides of the cab, is powered by the D2676 engine that generates 480 hp and a maximum torque of 2,300 Nm. It is mated to the MAN Tipmatic transmission.
It is equipped with double cylinder air compressor and an air dryer, 4-spoke multi-funtion steering wheel, hydraulic cab tilting mechanism, double-reduction rear axles and the MAN Genuine Roof Top Air Conditioner RTX 2000, for the driver to spend their rest period in the cab without running the engine.
“We are excited to announce the MAN XLION, which is the result of proven reliability for more than 100 years of MAN truck history and experience,” said its managing director Richard Frenz at the unveiling ceremony.
The XLION equipment is available in three packages — the Aerodynamic package, the Safety package and the Mechanical and Electrical package. There is also a XLION aftersales service package for the customers.
The Aerodynamic package which is available in all TG series, is for the L and LX CAB and comprises of roof spoiler and side panel with two movable side flap.
“As for the Safety Package, it comes with Exhaust Valve Brake (EVB), Emergency Stopping Signal (ESS), Anti-Spin Regular (ASR) and Anti-Jackknife Brake (AJK-B).
Meanwhile, the Mechanical and Electrical package includes the LED rear lights, daytime driving lights, idle shut down and aluminum rims.
“The packages have been put together so that companies benefit from added value and drivers can rest easy in the comfort of MAN vehicles,” Frenz said.
As for the MAN XLION aftersales service package, the MAN ServiceContracts and the sector-specific training programme, MAN ProfiDrive are included. Man Service Contracts cover maintenance and repairs and the exclusive use of MAN Genuine Parts and MAN Genuine Parts Ecoline. Both MAN Parts and Service come with a two-year warranty.
The MAN ProfiDrive programme can be conducted at any location and covers both practical driving skills as well as theoretical aspects of safety, economy and vehicle inspection.
