The country’s largest car maker Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) has narrowed the order-delivery gap for its seven-seater Aruz, fulfilling 52 per cent, or about 13,000 of the 25,000 bookings received to date.

“We managed to increase Perodua Aruz deliveries to an average of 110 units daily from 100 previously,” said its president and chief executive officer, Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

He said the company was working hard to maximise production and shorten the delivery time of the car model.

“The Perodua Aruz has been met with unprecedented demand. We are continuing to work closely with our suppliers to further shrink the gap between orders and deliveries,” Zainal said.

According to the Malaysian Automotive Association’s (MAA) official data, Perodua had sold 22,943 vehicles by its own count throughout last month.

This brought its five-month tally to 105,743 units — an 8.5 per cent increase compared with 97,487 units sold from the same period last year.
