SEPANG: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd has introduced five AMG models - the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S, C 63 S Coupe, GT 43 S, GT 53 S and GT 63 S - to the Malaysian market today.

Both the C 63 S and C 63 S Coupe are powered by the AMG 4.0-litre V8 twin turbo engine, mated to an AMG Speedshift Mct 9-speed transmission. The engine produces 510 hp at 5,500 to 6,250 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 2,000 to 4,500 rpm.

Mercedes-Benz claims that the C 63 S can complete the century sprint in 4.0 seconds, while the C 63 S Coupe can dash to 100kph from standstill in 3.9 seconds. The top speed for both variants is 290 kph.

Apart from the two-door and four-door differentiation, the interior trims are slightly different too.

The sedan is finished with a platinum white pearl and black theme, while the two-door coupe is wrapped with red pepper and black theme. On top of that, the C 63 S is equipped with Thermotronic automatic climate control system, while the coupe is fitted with the Thermatic system.

Some of the standard equipment shared among both models includes the 19-inch AMG wheels, AMG Ride Control, dynamic select, adaptive highbeam assist plus Multibeam LED headlamps, AMG exterior carbon fibre package, AMG night package, AMG Sports tyres, AMG spoiler lip, AMG performance exhaust system, red-painted brake calipers, panoramic sliding sunroof, AMG electrically powered performance seats with four-way lumbar support and heating function, AMG illuminated door sill panels, ambient lighting, auto dimming mirrors, 10.25-inch media display, 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, head-up display, Comand online with touchpad controller, and Burmester surround sound system.

As for the safety aspect of both models, they are equipped with 360 cameras, active distance assist Distronic, active parking assist with Parktronic, active steering assist, adaptive brake lights, AMG Track Pace, driving assistance package, hands-free access, keyless-go, pre-safe system, tyre pressure monitoring system, tirefit and anti-theft alarm system.

The Mercedes-AMG C 63 C is priced at RM768,888, while the coupe retails at RM820,888.

At the same event, the company also launched the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe - the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+.

The GT 63 S 4Matic+ runs on the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed transmission. The mill produces 639 hp at 5,500 to 6,500 rpm and 900 Nm of torque at 2,500 to 4,500 rpm.

Accelerating to 100kph from zero takes 3.2 seconds and the top speed is rated at 315 kph.

The GT 63 S is equipped with 21-inch AMG wheels, AMG Ride Control, AMG Dynamic Plus, AMG Dynamic Select, AMG Aerodynamics package, AMG light display, AMG exterior night package, AMG performance exhaust system, adaptive highbeam assist plus Multibeam LED headlamps, power closing, sliding sunroof, yellow-painted AMG brake calipers, AMG multifunction performance steering wheel, AMG illuminated door sills, air-balance package, ambient lighting, AMG electrically powered performance seats with four-way lumbar support and heating function, yellow seat belts and thermotronic automatic climate control.

As for the multimedia system, it is fitted with the widescreen cockpit that consists of two 12.3-inch screens, head-up display, wireless charging system on the front and in the rear, Comand online system and Burmester surround sound system.

Safety wise, the GT 63 S comes with 360 camera, active distance assist Distronic, active parking assist with Parktronic, Keyless-Go hands-free access, Easy-Pack tailgate, AMG Track Pace, tyre pressure monitoring system and steering assist.

At the launch, the company added that the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4Matic+ and the GT 43 4Matic+ were also available for booking. However, there wasn’t much information regarding the equipment list, with only the engine details and prices revealed.

Powering the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4Matic+ is a performance tuned 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line engine with 429hp at 6,100 rpm and

520 Nm of torque at 1,800 to 5,800 rpm. It completes the century sprint in 4.5 seconds and gives a top speed of 285 kph.

Meanwhile, the AMG GT 43 4Matic+ runs on a 3,0-litre six-cylinder in-line engine that generates 367 hp and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. It accelerates from zero to 100kph in 4.9 seconds and the top speed is 270 kph.

The Mercedes AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+ is priced at RM1.8 million, while the GT 53 4Matic+ retails at RM1.3 million. The GT 43 4Matic+ carries a price tag of RM1.1 million. All prices mentioned are without insurance.
