KUALA LUMPUR: PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd (PMVSB) has initiated its first-ever bubur lambuk-making initiative with its neighbours to be shared with the communities surrounding the Merdeka 118 precinct.

The initiative by Permodalan Nasional Bhd's subsidiary (PNB) is part of the Merdeka 118 Volunteer Programme.  PNB and PMVSB staff prepared bubur lambuk and gave away almost 450 packs to members from Public Housing (PA) Seri Sarawak, PA Jalan Hang Tuah, PA Loke Yew, and PA Seri Selangor.

"This effort aims to bring us closer to our neighbours within the Merdeka 118 precinct by making a simple yet meaningful activity such as cooking together into a collaborative community effort.

"We believe that initiatives like this cultivate continuous interaction with the community. As the Merdeka 118 development progresses, we are committed to ensuring that the surrounding communities are not only included but prioritised in our efforts as we move forward together.

"Additionally, we are pleased to see our team members volunteering their time and wholeheartedly embracing this initiative in the spirit of this holy month," said PNB real estate group head Idros Mosin in a statement.

To date, PMVSB has spearheaded various community-driven engagements to empower the surrounding community and drive positive change within the Merdeka 118 precinct.

This includes the Merdeka 118 Community Grants Programme and the Merdeka 118 Youth Programme. Moving forward, PMVSB will continue to organise programmes for the benefit of the Merdeka 118 precinct community.

PA Seri Sarawak Residents Association chairman Mohd Azmi Zakaria said the PMVSB's continued engagement with the community via the initiative was greatly welcomed.

"We look forward to building a strong relationship withMerdeka 118 in the future."
