KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Energy Bhd has appointed Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad as its new non-independent non-executive director effective today (Dec 15), to oversee its debt restructuring and future business plan.
Shahin Farouque is currently the group head, Strategic Investments of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).
"The board, leadership team, and I look forward to leveraging his wisdom and experience to navigate the success of our debt restructuring plan and chart the course for the future of our business," said Sapura Energy chairman Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah.
With over 20 years of investment banking experience, Shahin Farouque brings with him the knowledge and experience in corporate restructuring, investment banking and strategy which will be beneficial for the company to build a robust debt restructuring and regularisation plan.
Prior to PNB, he was an executive director in the Investment Division of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, and sat on the boards of various creative and media companies within the Khazanah portfolio. Ends
