KUALA LUMPUR: Iris Corp Bhd's unit, Iris Information Technology Systems Sdn Bhd (IITS) has secured a RM1.09 billion contract for the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) project from the Home Affairs Ministry.
In an exchange filing today, the company said it has accepted a supplemental letter of award (SLOA) dated May 11, 2021 from the ministry with a reduced applicable sales and service tax to RM33.06 billion from RM65.63 million.
"Under the SLOA, the government has agreed to reduce the applicable sales and service tax for NIISe."
The company said the reduction in applicable sales and service tax is not expected to have any impact on NIISe contribution to IITS.
Iris Corp said IITS would only collect the applicable sales and service tax on behalf of the government.
"All clauses as stipulated in the letter of award remains unchanged. We shall make necessary announcements as appropriate should there be any material information," it added.
