WITH online banking becoming an integral part of everyone's daily lives, the need for a secure banking experience is more important than ever.

Bearing this in mind, Maybank has developed Secure2u, a safer and more secure method to approve online transactions.

Instead of using SMS, which may lead to a higher likelihood of fraud, Secure2u pairs the user's device with their Maybank2u account which allows only the registered smartphone to approve transactions, making it much safer to use.

From the Maybank2u MY App, users can either generate a 6-digit Secure TAC for authentication purposes or receive a Secure Verification notification, where they can approve or decline transactions.

SECURE2U COMES TO THE MAE APP

Effective April 25, 2021 onwards, Secure2u will also be available on the MAE app.

Users will be able to approve transactions performed on the M2U website, M2U MY App as well as the MAE app via Secure2u on the MAE app.

For those who have both the M2U and MAE app, the MAE app will become the go-to app for all the Secure2u approvals.

However, users who only use either the MAE app or the M2U MY app on their own will remain unaffected.

Existing MAE app users can start receiving Secure2u notifications by logging in to the MAE app once after April 25. There is no registration required.

On the other hand, new MAE app users can follow these steps to register for Secure2u:

  1. Tap on 'More' on the bottom menu
  2. Tap 'Settings', then 'Maybank2u' and enable 'Secure2u'
  3. Follow the instruction on screens by confirming mobile number, input One-Time Password (OTP) sent
  4. Enter identification number and device name
  5. Secure2u is now enabled

M2U WEBSITE & M2U MY APP TRANSACTION APPROVAL

Approving transactions on the M2U website and M2U MY App will be a breeze as there is no need to launch the MAE app to approve the transaction via Secure2u.

All users need to do is tap on the push notification sent via the MAE app and select "Approve".

To check if Secure2u is enabled on the MAE app, head to the "Settings" tab and allow the Secure2u feature to run.
