KUALA LUMPUR: Gibraltar BSN Life Bhd has today appointed Lee Kok Wah as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Rangam Bir whose term of tenure ended on January 23 this year.
Previously chief financial officer of Gibraltar BSN, Lee is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 38 years of experience in the corporate world, of which 30 years was in the insurance industry.
Prior to joining Gibraltar BSN on August 15, 2016, he was chief financial officer of AXA Affin Life Insurance and had held similar positions at Syarikat Takaful Malaysia, Hong Leong Assurance and Manulife Insurance.
Gibraltar BSN chairman Datuk Kamil Khalid Ariff said the company was well poised to unlock new opportunities as it embarked on its next phase of growth, following the three-year enterprise-wide transformation led by Rangam.
"With his deep knowledge of the company and extensive experience of the industry, the board is confident that Lee's appointment will ensure continuity of our strategies to become Malaysia's Community Protection Champion."
Lee is a member of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia's technical sub-committee on tax and a fellow of Life Management Institute from the Life Office Management Association of the US.
