KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian oil and gas giant Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (Petronas) leadership has signed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) corruption-free pledge (CFP).

The signing, which took place yesterday, was led by Petronas president and group CEO Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin and was witnessed by Petronas chairman Tan Sri Sidek Hassan and MACC chief commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad.

The oil giant, which is in the Fortune 500’s largest corporations in the world, said the signing will strengthen the company’s resolve towards becoming a graft-free organisation and demonstrates its continuous commitment to uphold high standards of governance and to combat all form of corruption within its organisation.

“This signifies the ‘Tone at The Top’. Not only it exemplifies leadership by example but also leaders who have zero tolerance towards bribery and corruption,” Sidek said in a statement today.
