A BIG hole at a road shoulder in Kampung Pasir Tumboh opposite the Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet, in Kota Baru, is posing a danger to motorists and pedestrians.
The hole, which is slightly covered by an iron grate and is about the size of a lorry tyre, has been there for a few months.
According to resident Abdul Aziz Bakar, it is unclear whether the hole was a cave-in or caused by road construction work nearby.
“We hope the authorities will take immediate action before any untoward incident happens,” said the 24-year-old mechanic.

Kota Baru Municipal Council information assistant officer of the corporate unit, Mohd Hasmi Mohamad, said the council had yet to receive any report on the matter.
“It is better for residents to lodge a report to us so that action can be taken,” he said.
